I’m Benjamin, 31 years old and at home in the Oberbergischer Kreis, a district east of Cologne. Most of my time revolves around software and the web.
With Waymark Software, which I founded, I develop software for flight simulation and aviation. I also build websites as a freelancer, for businesses, self-employed people and clubs who want a solid presence online.
The other part of my life happens far away from the screen: as an emergency medical technician, I volunteer in emergency medical services. At first glance, the two worlds don’t have much in common. I think they complement each other pretty well. Both remind me that, in the end, it’s all about people.

Volunteers play a big part in making sure help is there when it’s needed. I’m glad to be one of them.

Even in my free time, I usually end up with similar topics. Aviation fascinates me, and flight simulation is more than just a hobby for me – after all, I build software for it myself. On top of that, I have a soft spot for technology and well-made digital products. When an app just feels right, I want to know why.
